New control package for Vermeer mini skid steers
Vermeer Manufacturing has a new control package on its S600 mini skid steer that provides greater maneuverability in work spaces and reduces workloads.
The new system includes two joysticks within a hand-grip bar that control transport and boom/bucket motion. With this design, operators can control machine functions while holding onto the hand-grip bar, helping to maintain balance during machine operation on uneven terrain.
Ground drive is controlled by a single pilot-operated joystick, allowing a smooth range of motion for the operator while minimizing back-pressure from the hydrostatic system. A ride-on unit with a spring-cushioned platform positioned within its framework, the machine features a 14.5-inch platform to enhance visibility while providing clearance for backing over curbs. A 14-gallon hydraulic tank offers more time for oil to cool and air to dissipate. The S600 is available with either a 30-horsepower gas engine or 25-horsepower diesel engine. Flagstick offers ad space
Custom Golf Flagstick has introduced a patented design for golf flagsticks that provide a branding or income opportunity.
The flagstick takes a traditional 7 1/2-foot golf flagstick and adds a custom-designed element with its 42-inch sleeve. The 2-inch in diameter sleeve (maximum permitted by the Rules of Golf) can be custom printed with wraps with a solid color, course logo and name, tournament sponsor name and logo or business partner logo, image or photograph.
The flagstick and sleeve are manufactured by Standard Golf. The company also offers custom putting green flagsticks, which are 44 inches tall and feature a 24-inch sleeve for advertising or branding opportunities. Contact http://www.golfflagstick.com, 888-352-4784.

Davey has new tree fertilizer
The Davey Tree Expert Co. says its Arbor Green PRO is a patent pending, slow-release, tree fertilizer fortified with polyamino acid that permits reduced application rates while improving plant health and soil structure.
Arbor Green PRO contains synthesized organic nitrogen and strengthening substances to maximize tree and shrub health. A slower, controlled release rate yields uniform growth, a lower risk of winter leaching and more effective nutrient absorption, according to the company. Contact http://www.davey.com.
The Golf Mat offers practice tee options
National Golf Products has introduced The Golf Mat, a new way to practice in a safer, more effective and efficient manner via a unique system that creates the same sensation of "give" at impact as taking a divot off natural grass.
Developed using feedback from PGA Tour players, leading teaching professionals, college coaches and top-flight amateurs, the mat incorporates a polymer filament below fairway-length turf to produce the first "true grass" alternative. Encouraging a proper "down and through" swing motion, it mitigates the likelihood of wrist, elbow and other common injuries. This contrasts traditional mats that force alterations in the swing plane due to surfaces with very little give at impact.
Portable and requiring no installation, The Golf Mat also features a distinctive, adjustable tee that allows golfers to position the ball according to personal preferences.
"We’ve received nothing but positive feedback from the marquee clubs and discerning golfers nationwide using The Golf Mat," said Joseph Switzer, NGP president. "It helps individuals improve their games and enhances facility revenue streams by making them stand out from competitors. This is true for courses and ranges already using mats, as well as those with natural grass seeking a cost-effective alternative without sacrificing performance."
