Dow extends cash rewards program through August
Dow AgroSciences has extended its The Power of MORE earning program through Aug. 31. The program allows users of its turf and ornamental herbicides, fungicides and insecticides to earn cash rebates on purchases made Dec. 1, 2007, through Aug. 31, 2008.
The more customers purchase, the more they earn. Customers who purchase enough products to earn $500 in base rebates also will receive bonus rebates. There are 33 participating products that earn cash rebates for every unit purchased.
"We are excited to provide this opportunity to lawn care, nursery and golf professionals who use active ingredients from Dow AgroSciences," says Mark Urbanowski, senior marketing specialist. "We have one of the broadest portfolios in the industry, and this program will be another benefit for the users of our products. The more you purchase, the greater the earning opportunity."
Rebates for product purchases made between the program dates will be mailed between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30. Users must submit invoices and a claim form to qualify. Qualifying products are outlined in the program guide, which is available online along with other program information at www.powerofmore.com. Customers also can contact their local distributor sales representative or a Dow AgroSciences sales representative for more information.
BASF launches liquid Drive XLR8 herbicide
BASF Turf and Ornamentals has launched Drive XLR8 herbicide, a new liquid formulation of Drive 75 DF.
Grassy and broadleaf weeds absorb Drive XLR8 faster, resulting in rainfastness in 30 minutes compared with dry formulations that can require nearly 24 hours, giving turf professionals more flexibility in their management programs.
It is a postemergence product that controls the most prevalent weeds, including crabgass, dandelions and clovers, and can be used on most tolerant cool- and warm-season grasses.
The liquid formulation offers easier mixing, handling and spraying. It has a use rate of 1.5 ounces per 1,000 square feet and is labeled for use on commercial and residential turf grasses, golf courses, and sod farms and sports fields. It can be tank mixed with Pendulum herbicide and other preemergence herbicides for annual grass control, as well as combined with other postemergence broadleaf products to increase the spectrum of postemergence control.
