PBI/Gordon becomes GCSAA Silver Partner
PBI/Gordon Corp. has pledged its support of GCSAA and its members by committing to participate in the association's Partner Recognition Program at the program's "Silver" level.
"We are proud to welcome PBI/Gordon to the GCSAA Partner Recognition Program," said GCSAA President David S. Downing II, CGCS. "These resources are invested for the benefit of GCSAA's stakeholders -- member superintendents, their facilities and the golf course management profession."
PBI/Gordon is a long-time supporter of GCSAA and its philanthropic organization, The Environmental Institute for Golf. PBI/Gordon is recognized at the Executive Club level through The Institute's cumulative giving program of organizations that have contributed between $25,000 and $49,999 since 1987. PBI/Gordon also participates in the Golf Industry Show Silent Auction.
"PBI/Gordon was among the first companies to recognize the need for specialized products which would support the needs of the golf course superintendent," said Laylah VanBibber, director of marketing.
Toro and Flowtronex enter sales and marketing alliance
The Toro Co. has formed an alliance with ITT Flowtronex under which Toro distributors will offer Flowtronex pump stations when golf courses are purchasing Toro irrigation products in the U.S. and Canada.
"By offering industry-leading Flowtronex pump stations as part of a complete irrigation package, our Toro distributors will be able to give superintendents tremendous value and efficiency. In addition to having one point of contact when acquiring a Toro irrigation system and Flowtronex pump station package, customers will also be able to realize the benefits of further product integration," said David Angier, marketing manager.
"As part of this agreement, we are working closely with Flowtronex to increase the level of product integration and communication between Toro control systems and Flowtronex pump station software," Angier said.
Flowtronex's parent company, ITT, has a portfolio of water-related products and services, including reverse osmosis, UV treatment. "There are many challenges with using effluent and salt water for golf course watering," said Angier. "By using ITT technologies, Flowtronex pump stations and Toro irrigation products, we will be able to deliver a complete source to course water management solution."
Toro will be looking to add additional enhancements in the future, such as expanding Toro’s National Support Network to include support for Flowtronex pump stations and extending the alliance to international markets. Contact http://www.toro.com.
Jacobsen dealer network expands
Jacobsen says it has created a superior service experience for its customers by expanding the territories of three existing equipment dealerships, and adding one new dealer to its national authorized dealer network:
Kansas Golf & Turf, headquartered in Wichita, Kan., will now serve the northeast corner of Kansas and the western half of Missouri, territory previously covered by Golf & Turf Technology, in addition to the areas across Kansas that it has covered for more than 15 years.
Luber Brothers Inc., in Dallas, will now serve customers in southeast Texas, the Houston market previously covered by Houston Turf, in addition to those in its current territory of northern Texas, Oklahoma and western Arkansas.
Midwest Golf & Turf, headquartered in Cincinnati, will now serve Michigan and the northwest corner of Ohio, previously covered by W. F. Miller Company, in addition to its current territory of Kentucky, Indiana and the southwest corner of Ohio.
Tri-State Pump & Controls Inc., in Liberty, S.C., became the newest authorized Jacobsen dealer for customers in North Carolina and South Carolina, except the coastal region. This area was formerly served by Jacobsen Turf Direct.
"As a result of their reputations for strong customer service, Jacobsen has expanded the territories of three dealers to include more area," says Ralph Nicotera, Jacobsen vice president of sales. "We have also added a dealer in the Carolinas and are confident these changes will result in the finest possible service and support for both new and current Jacobsen customers throughout each region."
