NYSTA elects 2008 officers and directors
The New York State Turfgrass Association has elected its 2008 officers and directors. Owen Regan, owner of Organics & More Ltd., is the new president. He served as vice president of NYSTA in 2006 and 2007, secretary/treasurer in 2005, and as a board member since 2002.
Greg Chorvas, vice president for 2008, is the superintendent at Cantine Veterans Sports Complex. Secretary/treasurer is Robert Sanderson, grounds and landscape manager of the Sodexho campus services team at Nazareth College.
Newly elected directors include: Craig Yunker, Batavia Turf LLC; Craig Currier, GCSAA Class A superintendent, Bethpage State Park; and Tom Wright, GCSAA Class A superintendent, Mohonk Mountain House. Other members currently serving include: Peter Muller, Quality Lawn Care; Timothy Hahn, GCSAA Class A superintendent, Greystone/Shadows Golf Courses; Rick Holfoth, CGCS, Country Club of Rochester; Roger Lind, Grassland Equipment & Irrigation Corp.; and Michael McNamara, GCSAA Class A superintendent, Grossinger Golf & Country Club. Michael Maffei, CGCS, is serving as past president.
