GCSAA Disaster Relief Fund

In 2006, in reaction to Hurricane Katrina, the association established the GCSAA Disaster Relief Fund to assist GCSAA members who suffered personal loss. The fund raised more than $190,000 to help those affected by storms in 2006, and has continued to be a resource for members who face tragedy caused by natural disasters.

Those who are affected and may be eligible for financial assistance and resources from the fund can contact 800-472-7878 or email mbrhelp@gcsaa.org.

Donations made to the fund are an opportunity for those in the golf industry to directly assist their peers. The fund is administered through GCSAA's philanthropic organization, the Environmental Institute for Golf. The EIFG is a 501(c)3 organization and gifts are tax-deductible. Your tax adviser can provide you with information specific to your gift. Be assured that 100 percent of your donation to the Disaster Relief Fund goes to impacted members. Hurricane Disaster Relief

In light of the tragedy caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, GCSAA and the Environmental Institute for Golf have established a relief effort for victims. This effort will focus on providing support directly to the GCSAA members who suffer personal loss due to this disaster. GCSAA's deepest thoughts and prayers go out to those affected as they cope with the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to GCSAA members who suffer personal loss.

  • Any GCSAA member is eligible for this assistance.
  • The amount of the assistance provided shall differ by situation up to a maximum of $2,000 per claim.
  • GCSAA reserves the right to verify the information received from the member.
  • Claims will be processed on a first-come, first serve basis.
  • All claims shall be processed by the senior director of member programs.

GCSAA will provide financial assistance up to $2,000 to members who contact us (via phone or email) and whose daily lives are altered by the effects of the natural disaster and whom meet any of the following criteria:

  1. Have had to relocate/evacuate (whether they are staying with family, friends or in a motel) from their homes.
  2. Remain in their homes, but lose basic necessities such as electricity, water, etc. which lead to unexpected financial burden.

Our goal is to provide financial assistance as quickly as possible.

All members requesting funding will be required to provide written explanation of how the funds will be spent and all claims must be accompanied by documentation, including in the case of personal loss, a copy of appropriate estimates and/or invoices, if requested.

We hope the the Disaster Relief Fund will bring some comfort to those facing disaster, and know the thoughts and prayers of the membership and staff are with them at this difficult time.
