For those of us in northern climates, the new year reminds us the 2024 golf season is right around the corner! Whether you’re a golf course superintendent or an avid golfer, Rounds 4 Research (R4R) provides the perfect opportunity to be part of a program benefitting the game of golf.
The program is straightforward: Facilities donate a round of golf, the donation is inputted into our platform, Bidding4Good, and individuals bid for the round of golf. Pretty simple!
Then, funds raised by rounds donated within your local chapter are assigned accordingly for your chapter to disperse. All proceeds go to a worthy cause – benefitting the golf industry through education, turfgrass research, and advocacy. The more the winning bid, the more everyone benefits! Chapters are a big part of R4R’s success.
We are in the process of receiving rounds for the 2024 Rounds 4 Research auction, which runs from April 22-28, 2024. Whether you are an organization looking to solicit rounds or a golfer looking for the opportunity to support research while enjoying the sport you love, R4R provides a way for all aspects of the game to come together to ensure its future.
The Rounds 4 Research program is addressing a critical shortage of funding for ongoing, university-based agronomic research, education, advocacy programs and course operations. You can help foster sustainability with a donation or by bidding on rounds during the online auction.
Our numbers in 2023 were impressive, but we are looking to build on the success.
Last year there were 1,547 rounds donated, with an average round sold at $381. $544,500 was raised, up $55,000 from 2022. Participating chapters received $425,000 total. There were 2,032 registered bidders, up 211 from 2022.
While last year was a success, we still have work to do, and we need your help! Donate today.
Do you know an active golfer? Get them to bid. Some of the best facilities across the country participate. Not only is this a great way to get access at a course you may not normally be able to play but it’s a great way to benefit the future of the game. That is the mission.
Please reach out if you have any questions. We are looking forward to your participation and engagement. Happy New Year!
