Attesting of your golf facility
To fulfill the attesting requirement, you must have your golf course operation evaluated
by two certified golf course superintendents appointed by your chapter. This evaluation
is conducted during your course's growing season and covers four major divisions:
- Course conditions. This area includes putting greens, golf course
tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, car or cart paths, ponds and waterways, driving
range and general grounds.
- Maintenance facility. This section covers office areas, shop area,
pesticide storage area, equipment storage area, fuel storage area, equipment wash
area, safety equipment and employee areas.
- Record-keeping. In this section, the attestors will review your
financial records, employee records, chemical applications, employee training, storage
tanks and wildlife inventory.
- Communication skills. This section will cover professionalism,
management skill statements and communication with management, members/players,
staff and the community.
Prior to the evaluation of your course, you'll be requested to submit a report to
the attestors. GCSAA will provide the format of the report, which will ask you to
include the following information:
- Demographic information
- Your involvement in GCSAA
- Course characteristics, such as budget, annual rounds, number of employees and length
of growing season.
