We are 2 months out from the end of our lease package with ******** and our Board of Directors voted to switch vendors and go with Toro. We had the Jac sales rep come in and look over the equipment, in the hopes of getting an estimate for what the turn in assessment would be. They looked and said it was "fairly minimal" but refused to give even an estimate, I guess in the hopes of us retaining them. Anything that we should be looking over, fixing ourselves on machines before they are turned in??
    Thanks

You should have that info in the initial lease documents. Usually fair wear and tear. Some EM's negotiate a higher return value by specifying equipment will be in as good or better shape at the end of the lease

    Been there, done that.

We were charged for tires that had over 50% wear and rips in the seats. I've never seen a 4 year old mower that had more than 50% life in the tires left or that didn't have a rip or hole in the seat. They wanted to repair using their techs on about a $100/hour rate with parts at full price. I guess I argued well enough that they should have pointed this stuff out prior to picking it up and given us the option to repair or replace it on our own dime. I never paid the bill and never heard anything back from them. Everything since has been documented well in advance and we have been given the chance to make the repairs ourselves.

This was coming from the dealer that bought our package from the leasing agency, not from the dealer that sold it originally.

OK thanks for the info I wasn't here for the original lease and have nothing in the fine print, but they did bring a rider to the lease agreement to us when it was looked over. BUT believe it or not I got a text for posting this and asking for any other experience. I thought this forum was exactly for giving our thoughts and asking for others help when needed. I don't know Andy Jorgensen personally but I know you always give posts and help where needed and I am always reading what you post. Is this place to ask for help and guidance from our peers??? Nope, Evidently one of the other 78 people who viewed this post called said named company about the post. I didn't realize we had "backstabbers" and "snitches" in the business. I'm a 20 year Marine, my word when I give it is solid, so I'm just glad I never had that person in the Marines with me and I don't have any ass left from all the real world chewings I took keeping my Marines and Helicopters safe and out of harms way.

    James,

There are always snakes in the grass or spies just laying in wait!! Your question seems objective and to the point, so i say f**k anyone that gives you any s**t. You do not want their opinion anyhow!

James, just to let you know. members on this site or not all Superintendents! many times you will have the same vendors who or also members in our national organzation monitor this site for potential issues with their products and Superintendents. I have had great replies to issues with equipment from the factory people because of this site. so its not all bad. I agree that if you got a text about your post, which I see nothing wrong with, you should be peed off. just do not assume some Superintendent called them up and ratted it out. Sounds like a dealer you should not be doing business with anyway!

If they lost your clubs business they should look at the why and try to see if they can make their product or service better. Some times they get mad thinking that some Superintendents are loyal to color of equipment why it may actually be the club not happy with the agreement, service or product they had.
