Lawrence, Kan. (Oct. 7, 2025) – The Everglades Golf Course Superintendents Association (EGCSA) has generously donated $10,000 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), with $5,000 of it dedicated to the new Col. John Morley Centennial Campaign.
GCSAA will turn 100 on Sept. 13, 2026, and it has embarked on a Centennial fundraising campaign to establish a new endowment honoring GCSAA’s founder, Col. John Morley, with a goal of raising $1 million to fund new and innovative initiatives for the next 100 years.
The Everglades GCSA is supporting the Centennial Campaign at the Chapter Legacy Leader Level, which recognizes donations of $5,000 or more. The GCSAA-affiliated chapter continues its membership in the Foundation’s Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes organizations that donate $5,000 or more annually to the GCSAA Foundation. It is also recognized at the President’s Club level in the Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program for donors that have contributed between $100,000 and $249,999 since 1987.
“Our Centennial Campaign is an ambitious undertaking to help fund the future, and we are thankful to the Everglades GCSA for their commitment and dedication to helping shape the next century of the industry and the game,” said GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans.
Everglades GCSA is one of the 94 GCSAA-affiliated chapters in North America. Founded in 1968, it continues to serve its members by promoting and enhancing the recognition of golf course superintendents. It continues to advance the profession through education, advocacy, and fellowship.
“We’re honored to support GCSAA and give back to an industry that has always supported and guided our members, especially as the association celebrates its centennial,” said EGCSA President Gabe Gallo.
