We don't have regular play scheduled off the front and back where I'm at currently, the course is laid out pretty well for us to work around the few golfers who they do send off the back nine. We can only usually request they send no one off the back nine if we are doing something on occasion, but normal days they will send people out if they can.
When I was in New Jersey, we did have for the first hour play go off of # 10 tee for nine hole play only. During the week we would send out mowers (greens and fairways if they were scheduled) off both nines to stay in front of play. On weekends with our one person mowing greens and the other changing cups, we would start on # 1 and just move around the course in order, by the time we made the turn to # 10 we were in the gap between the front nine golfers and back nine golfers. Only occasionally when we had a beginner did the first group catch the back nine golfers or would hold us up, but the rangers usually would have that issue fixed before we caught them.
If we didn't work that way, we were so busy guys would be watching golf instead of mowing.
