They continue to send me stuff that I have not ordered. I do not wish to do business with them. No matter who I tell at the company, it still shows up. All deliveries are dropped at clubhouse, so it is hard to get everyone to remember to refuse delivery. Any help out there for a guy at his wits-end?

I would do two things. First, who ever receives items at your club, inform them or any one else to refuse shipments from this company. Secondly, just put the stuff in a corner of your shop, unopened. When the bill comes, send it back stating these items were never ordered and they can pick them up if they wish. Let them continue sending bills and keep returning them. Document everything and keep records. I know it's a pain, but eventually they will either send a pickup slip or just let it drop when they don't get paid.
    Good Luck with this.

    James,

Not sure why you would receive anything from them. Talk to a guy from time to time, only receive what I ask for.

Id go so far as to call UPS or FexEx and tell them NOTHING from this company needs to be delivered.

Are they the ones who are always selling the rope from the Masters?

I personnally can't stand this company. I was misled on multiple occasions concerning quality, so it's no suprise to me to hear other issues.

I had the same thing happen with this company, had a sales guy keep calling me and he was a flat out liar. He lied about supposed credit we had trying to get me to order and also tried to ship products twice that I didn't order, shipping department would call and tell me it was shipping and told them no way . I called and spoke to a manager and wrote a letter to the company telling them to never contact us again and to do something about this particular salesman. I did like their greens hoses but it seemed like they always tried to push ball washer fluid, rain gear, and he had some crazy new product that was a pellet and hose applicator that you used to cure dry spots on your greens  Definitely knew little about turf.

Did the letter work? Sequoia pines ball washer soap, tyvek spray suits, sand dancer bunker rakes, blue moon spray dye. Ugh, products ok-ish but shipping is the killer.

I would suggest submitting a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Here is the link to the Golden West page....

I have not received any calls since then, which has been about a year ago. The calls would always be from a private or blocked number.

The salesman always starts the call with some lame joke as if we were best friends. Then they say they want to talk about one thing and thats it, but after 15 more items on "sale" they try to pitch safety glasses as a last resort. Id rather keep my business with the local guys that support the local organization and try to form a real relationship.

Hey Tim, wouldn't it be more effective to tell them you're not interested before you hang up? :?

Good catch Tom, I see you are still sharp. Hope you are well.

I tell them I am not interested by the time they get to their 3rd item and then after I tell them I'm not interested I hang up!

    Tough crowd here

The boot works well. I have a rubber boot next to the phone for just such occasions. As soon as I recognize the start of a spiel from any sales company, the phone goes into the boot and they can talk all they want. The guys all know if the phone is in the boot, just to leave it.
I pulled it out once after about 10 minutes and the guy was still yabbering on. Another time the guy phoned back after an hour or so and told me to go fuck myself.
    Nice bunch

Do you a PO system? If so then any mail order items have to be on the list in the receiving office and so if not on your list it gets sent back. Mail must come to office and that makes the office personnel accountable for checking each item in. If the GM or person in charge will not do this, then bring it up to Green Chairman or Board of Directors and it will be fixed fast. You can also block some with Post Office but these companies can be tricky, they often use 3-4 and more names so items get in. I remember a light bulb company and a rope company years ago in Tacoma WA that gave me fits.

Funny story, but who's the poor soul that gets to use the phone after it has been in the boot?

These guys have always been a problem. One thing to remember, if you receive anything that you did not order you are under no legal obligation to pay for it OR return it. It is considered a "gift" unless the sending company has documentation to prove you ordered it.

Kerry it's kind of like our politics, we complain all the time, but no one follows up on the complaint, I'll let the other guy do it.?

Either that or there is more to rating companies then I realize?

I looked into the bbb complaint idea. The BBB starts out by recommending a few steps before actually filing a complaint. Mainly start by sending letters and calling supervisors before getting to the Official complaint.

    Thanks James,

Thought there would be more than just filing a complaint, to protect a business I suppose from false complaints.

I had to deal with these Bozos too. I could literally watch my phone on my office desk ring and if no answer my cell phone because my Pro...I prefer Con...gave them my cell number. I finally had enough. The next time the salesman called me......I verbally took care of it. Been 2 yrs and haven't heard from them since. Sometimes you just gotta get mean if they can't take NO for an answer.

Over the years we have received "FREE" spools of rope, safety glasses, and ear protection. Like above posts have mentioned, since we never ordered it, when we receive their invoices I call them and let them know: 1) it was not ordered by our company, 2) it is here for them to pick up or send us a shipping label so they can pay to return the product, and 3) we are not going to spend a dime on their product. Interesting that once in a while we still get something from them. After I year I figure they have no intentions of getting their product back so we end up using it for ourselves at the resort.
