I have a few options in mind but im interested in what you use? and how often? and do you like it?

I am looking into the Bannerman - Simple Dimple Roller, T.I.P Spiker/Seeder, a few different cheap Agri Fab Spiker just to name a few.

    Thanks for your input,

    Virgil,

We will try to do one deep tine aeration with 1/2" solids during the summer, (ends up very small hole, no putting issues, and heals by the weekend if not sooner, depending on the day we do it). Otherwise, we are on a two week topdressing program, (when the pro shop doesn't schedule something on us or a holiday falls in that week), we verticut when not too hot, and spike using either the spiker on the back of our bunker rake, or some attachment that goes on our Toro triplex, I think they are from Australia, but those units are at one of our other courses so I can't go out and double check the name.

Hydroject every three weeks in the spring, as much as every other week during the summer and off weeks with TORO 648 with the needle tines if needed. Two hydrojects on second spacing (roughly 2"x3" spacing)can finish 20 greens in an 8 hr shift. Two 648's with needle tines second spacing finish 20 greens in much less than 8hrs.

    Virgil,

I use a couple of different options I have available here. I try to vent at least once a month but sometimes more depending on weather. All methods I've done I like, although some take longer than others. That time though I think reflects on how effective the process is. Normally we use our 648's with needle tines at 2.5" spacing sometime up to 3" if looking to move quicker. Normally we do this method if it has been wet and warmer. We also use our TruSurface spiker attachments for our TriPlex. These although, don't go too deep just break into thatch area. This method will probably be introduced a bit more often this year to work sand down into the canopy of our renovated greens. I haven't done, but am looking into like you mentioned the TIP Seeder/Spiker. I have one here at the club and looking for ways to use it and this could be the way. It penetrates a bit deeper into the profile so could be that intermediate of the TruSurface and 648's.

    Best Regards,
    Justin
