Dollar Spot

I have a stupid theory running through my head about dollar spot and would like some other opinions on it. If I spray a wetting agent of some sort on fairways and the dew formation is limited due to the effects of the wetting agent, wouldn't that decrease the dollar spot pressure? And if so in theory, shouldn't I get longer control of a fungicide applications if spaced in between wetting agent applications?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

I would think you would in theory but soil moisture and daytime humidity play a large roll in leaf wetness with or without dew. It sure cannot hurt but I am not sure you can gurantee a skipped fungicide applicaiton.

I put down our wetting agents with our fungicides because spraying a public golf course is such a pain already I hate to spend the labor to do it twice.

In the past we've used a few different wetting agents that prevented dew formation (not really for disease control, it was just the wetting agent we were using at the time) and our dollar spot situation never really improved. For us, when the weather was right for dollar spot, we had dollar spot regardless. Not that this is some ground breaking news but the biggest thing that's helped us see a reduction in DS pressure has been cutting back on irrigation and relying more heavily handwatering. When we do run the heads during high pressure periods, we try to do it in the early morning just before and after sunrise to prevent prolonged leaf/canopy wetness.
