I have Eurasian Milfoil in my irrigation pond, I also have the ability to drain it completely. I was wondering what your thoughts are on draining the pond after irr blowout and then treating it with AquaNeet (glyphosate). Has anyone done this before? Or am I setting myself up for something bad when we refill the pond come spring time?

Or would the aquatic weeds die from being exposed to the cold temperatures directly all winter?

And Andy before you say anything about a special license I have my aquatic spray license for the state of Illinois.

Anyone have any ideas? I am going to drain it anyway so I can get a look at my pump intake.

We drained our ponds during winter and tried to clean as much organic matter out as possible. I think it helped reduce the algae in the spring. We did not spray anything, just let it dry out and raked it up. (Leaves and mat layers) But hard because ponds weren't built deep enough to shade bottoms even with dye.
