I'm not normally a complainer but it seems like this needs to be addressed. Why can I get a better deal on a hotel by registering through a hotel website than I can through the "travel deals." I know that our new CEO is a bulldog when it comes to negotiation but it seems like we may have missed the mark in Vegas

    Daniel, Andy:

Thanks for mentioning this. We have a new travel service provider, so we took your feedback to our conference events team. Golf Industry Travel guarantees that they'll deliver the lowest rate for us. (They use an automated system that scours the Web and and alerts them if it finds a lower rate. That said, although the system is extremely accurate, errors are still possible.)

If a lower rate is discovered, the hotel has to either 1) offer the lower rate to GCSAA or 2) remove the lower rate from the website.

Here's where you can help: If you can provide us with the website where you found the lower rate, we will work with Golf Industry Travel to resolve the situation. Golf Industry Travel is already working with one of the hotels in our conference and show hotel block.

When you have a chance, please send this information to Jana Brown at jbrown@gcsaa.org.

    Thanks for your help,
    Sharmion

Remove the lower rate? I know the GCSAA has negotiated rates but this only serves to further reduce the savings opportunity for us members.

I've always just booked my own. Better prices and still not that far from all the action.
