I am delighted to be subsidizing his socialized medicine, I wonder if he would mind if I joined in on his plan?

    Regards,

    Steve

Jr. He may be a jackhole, but I guess he is not stupid.

I just find it funny that while trying to cut and deny health care for others to balance budgets, he gets a sweetheart deal and takes advantage of it.

I do not care if top executives get perks. The ones that get me are the congresspeople with single payer (US Govt) socialized medical care for life who are so concerned about about appealing Health Care Reform.

This is the kind of stuff that drives the general public nuts. Although the governor could take a salary and drop the state insurance coverage. I have to imagine the price tag for his insurance is substantially less than his salary.

Clay that might depend on his health....it can be quite costly to stay healthy these days.

I find, while as a tax payer, it's great that a politician thinks he is well off enough to not take a salary or to pay for his own travel. But do we start electing people because they have great wealth so they save the tax payers some money. It that where we really want to go? Could they end up skirting ethical rules because they are not using tax payers money? I guess I'm going off topic of the thread, but I would be interested in what others think.

I don't blame him for taking the State supplied insurance, I would, too. The difference between us is that I have never denounced state supplied insurance as "socialism" and directed my Attorney General to sue the Federal government over it. The fact that he takes no salary is a red herring, the problem is the stunning hypocrisy.

    Steve

    Mel,

I think its a bit of a stretch that candidates will be elected on the sole premis that they will take no salary.

I agree with Steve, the real story is the hypocrisy.

I agree 100% with you Steve. I don't know how these guys get elected, and then re-elected. Hopefully he doesn't.

And it seems that is where many republican leaders are heading, our Lt. Gov in our state has filed suit as well. And then he bashes our governor for not joining. (Interesting we have a Democratic Governor and Republican Lt. Gov). Although I have to say, when it was presented last year 70% of our state citizens rejected the new health care law, so the Lt. Gov. felt he was justified. Now if you went to all the citizens of our state and said this how the new health care law will help you, instead of listening to all the outside money and rhetoric that was presented, or because the president got it passed. They probably wouldn't have been so quick to dismiss it. But that is just my opinion.

    Nice cartoon Scott.
