I think this guy would have a shot against Obama, but I do not think there is anyway the Tea Party would allow it. It would make for an interesting campaign and I think I could actually enjoy (with an open mind) an Obama/Huntsman Debate.

How about Buddy Roemer as a Republican Candidate? He seems reasonable.

Saw Roemer on Stewart last night, I thought he was an interesting candidate. I bet even DMc would like him.

I think Huntsman would be a good candidate as well.

Buddy has been out of Politics for 20 years and is 68 now. He is likable. As a republican I would not vote for him and yet, I liked what he had to say. If he was 20 years younger he could have been the Republican version of Carter, a "nice man" even a "good man" and they would eat him up in Washington.

The Republicans have good candidates and they have a good message, but I am afraid a small percentage are going to exclude them from having an electable ticket.

Buddy is a very smart man. He ran and won against Edwin Edwards many years ago as a reform candidate. Voters lover reformers until the get elected. He is certainly not naive as he comes from long time Louisiana politcal family that knows the ins and outs of dirty politics.............his father served as Edwards Commissor of Administration back in the 70's early 80's and did prison time for EE by refusing to talk to the feds. But reforms are only liked while a candidate..........not as an elected official.

I use to think anybody but Palin but now its "anybody but Perry." We don't need any more hate.

It seems like such a shame to me. As Americans we could have a real election, a real viable choice of candidates. It is sure to come down to a choice between Obama and a hate-filled crazy person.

Well we finally found out where the $445 billion is coming from.....a tax increase.........who would have thunk it.
One question for the left.........we all (left and right) agree or think we do that SS is in trouble. If not today in the not to distant future. SS is only funded by employee and employer funds............so how exactly will it get better with a continuation of the fica repeal and now adding employers to the list as well.

Clay I see Barrak is coming to visit your home state again............is this the time he is bar-b-queing at your house and we're drinking a few beers with him? I got to make plans.

Geezzz Scott, it was crazy last night. Did you see it? The Republican debate on CNN? I did.

All the hate spewing from each of the eight candidates...you're right. We're doomed. Doesn't matter which one. We'll get a hate-filled nominee.

Yeah, Mr.President is trekking to O.H.- I.O. He would have to make a turn west into the Hoosier state to slap on the feed bag and pop the cork at my ranch. Although, I bet Mr. President can get a nice tattoo from a particular OSU booster. But it won't come cheap. This particular booster works on the barter system. Mr. President will have to give up a pair of pants.

So the reality is Rick Perry considers a $5000 bribe to be offensive. Merck actually contributed $30,000. Is that the point where bribes are no longer offensive? I have to admit that Michele has always made my skin crawl, but she looked very good in this exchange!

He still wants me for dinner.

Sometime soon, can we meet for dinner?Wednesday, September 14, 2011 10:16 AM

    Friend --

Supporters like you are the reason I'm here, and the values we share have always made our organization more than just a political campaign.

So whenever I can, I want to take the opportunity to meet you. Last month, that meant I got to talk to folks in Iowa about small-business opportunities, and sit down with a group of volunteers from around the country who helped build this campaign in their communities this summer.

Today, I want to ask if you'll join me and three other supporters for a meal and conversation sometime soon.

Please donate $5 or more to be automatically entered for a chance to join me for dinner.

If this sounds a bit familiar to you, it's because we've done this before. In fact, my hope is that I'll be able to keep doing these dinners throughout the campaign.

They're a chance for me to talk one on one with people like you who are taking ownership of this campaign and connect with the work going on every day in neighborhoods across the country.

These dinners also set our campaign apart. No matter what our opponents do over the next 14 months, dinners like these are how we will continue to put people at the heart of this campaign -- and prove that we don't need checks from Washington lobbyists or special-interest PAC money to win an election. We can do it person to person, in our neighborhoods and backyards, and over the dinner table.

That's why I'm asking for your donation today. I hope you'll take a minute to help build this campaign. When you do, you'll have a chance to join me for dinner:

    https://donate.barackobama.com/Dinner

Maybe I'll get to thank you in person.

    Barack

Since I didn't get back to Barack, now he's got Michelle hounding me to join 'em for dinner. Only three bucks now, instead of five.

I have a feeling if I don't respond that Sasha and Malia will be calling next.

Not everyone knows how to prepare for a dinner like this. As someone who's eaten countless meals with my husband, I want to tell you the one thing to do if you're selected to join him...

Just relax. Barack wants this dinner to be fun, and he really loves getting to know supporters like you.

I hope you'll take him up on it before Friday's deadline.

Will you donate $3 or more today and be entered to have dinner with Barack?

These dinners mean a lot to Barack. They're a chance for him to talk with a few of the people who are driving the campaign -- and a chance for him to say thank you.

So come prepared to tell your story, and say whatever's on your mind.

Don't miss the opportunity to be there. Donate $3 today, before the September 30th deadline:

    Thanks,

    Michelle

That's just it, Sandy. I never ponied up the original five bucks, and now they're willing to settle for three.

Wait 'til all those five dollar donors who don't get invited to dinner demand their two dollar rebate. Barack will have hell to pay. Somehow I think no three dollar donor will get invited either.

I've never been afraid to admit it when I'm wrong, so I'll admit it. I was wrong.

I prdedicted that after Barack and Michelle tried to get three bucks out of me, and couldn't, that eventually Sasha and Malia would be calling next. Sasha and Malia must be busy with Friday night homework from their private school teachers, because now, JOE BIDEN is hounding me.

    They're relentless, I tell ya'.

    What's stopping you, right now?Friday, September 30, 2011 1:30 PM

I need to ask you one last thing before tonight's midnight deadline:

If you know you're going to donate to this campaign eventually, what's stopping you from doing it right now?

If you're going to be a part of history in 2012, it's time to get off the sidelines.

So, before midnight, will you chip in what you can and say you're in?

This has never been about Barack and me.

We're just two guys. It's folks like you out there who will decide this election.

And what you're capable of is incredible -- if you decide to do it.

    https://donate.barackobama.com/Friday-Deadline

    Thank you,

    Joe

P.S. -- That deadline also applies to the dinner Barack is having with four supporters. Donate today and you'll be automatically entered for the chance to be there.

Serves you right. I get stuff like that from Republican candidates all the time and since I'm an Independent, I can't even vote in the primary.. Go figure.
