"Was Robin Hood a thief?" Interesting question. Well, if he did exist and as the legends say forcefully took from the rich and gave to the poor, was this bad? Albert I think Robin Hood is an example of what happens when the 99% ers have had enough. Little 'King' John was squeezing the country dry to pay for the never ending wars in France, Richard's 3rd Crusade, and generally to support a lifestyle widely different from the common folk. Who was truly stealing from who? Wasn't John forcefully taking from the poor to support his agenda?
Whether or not Robin Hood actually did exist, we do know that King John was so horrible a leader that it ultimately led to a rebellion, which directly led to the Magna Carta, which is an early foundation for both the constitution of the UK and our own.
Are you suggesting that modern day welfare programs equate to stealing fromt the rich to give to the poor as Robin hood did? The biggest lesson from the Robin Hood legends and what actually happened with the Magna Carta is that without support of the people there is no king. It's a two way street.
