This may be true and worth the investigation to find out.
What you may be able to do is buy the adapters you need from a golf lift place itself.
I have been in the Auto Repair business in my very young years and can tell you that the only difference is that there is a tray that is about 1' wide that lips over both side arms of the lift. this tray is about 2" deep in which it holds one set of tires. the other two arms use a set of closeable tire holders. These are the only adapters we use in our shop for all of our mowers.
your biggest safety risk is the installation of the lift. most fails come from them not being mounted to the proper specs. you need the right thickness of concrete or you need to use anchors designed to go under the concrete. it also has to be strong enough to hold the weight of the lift when raising the vehicles. Just because you can drive a vehicle on the concrete does not make it strong enough. minimum 6" thick!
Do yourself a favor and youtube failed lifts! there are many videos on them crashing do to mounting them wrong. there are also many videos on how to mount them and use them with equipment.
