Is anyone else having problems with a coupler going out in the hydro on this machine?

What year and how many hours? Also what hydraulic oil are you using? If you don't have a pressure and flow test kit, contact your dealer and have their technician check the relief pressure. I had a number of them go out before, but we ended up using the Mobil EAL hydraulic oil, similar to the Jacobsen brand. We checked all the relief pressures, and change the oil out every 600 hours and filter every 300. Seem to cut back on our problems. I don't recall what the psi was, but the dealer could tell you if you don't have the service manual. I also think Jacobsen has their manuals on line now.

One more thing to check, and that's price. It was more cost effective to purchase the entire pump verses the coupler and gerotor, plus you get a warranty on the new pump, and there's no debris from the trashed parts. I think it was like a 1,000 for the parts, and 11 or 1,200 for the whole pump. Savings was in the labor, just slap that baby in and roll.

No help but I can attest to your problem. Same thing at a club I work for part time. It's the ultimate range tee, short game area machine but this is an issue. Also the rear units lowering early and scalping. Henry do you have a fix for that? Kenneth Ingram, UMD.

Have you changed any hydraulic hoses on your machines? There are small orifice oil meters in each cylinder. Not sure what the line up is, but seems like there are three that are .032 and the other two are like .026. This controls the sequence or timing of the lifting. Maybe it's worth looking into. There are also three check valves on the control valve, maybe try moving them around and see if there lifting changes. I will continue to dig, but I haven't worked on Jac in two years, and my memory seems to slip a bit these days.

We had a problem with the steering becoming tougher to turn the wheel and we checked the steering cylinder on the back and changed out the steering towers with the one that was working fine and it still was tougher anyone have any suggestions?
