I looking to upgrade my roller chain for my Salsco GGR 5.5 roller. Did anyone upgrade to the O-ring chain yet? I got 330 hours out of the OEM chain.
What is the size of the chain? #50 chain is what the book calls for but the o-ring chain size is 530 I think - I don't want to guess.

    Thank you.

The size of the chain will be on the chain. But the o-Ring chain will stretch also do to
the way we roll ( back & forth) . Thought about trying o-ring chain on ours but pricie. I can buy
10 FT of standard chain for $20.00 or so and put on new when needed.

Used O-ring chain all last season. I was first introduced to O-ring chain on the GA-60 aerifier and held up far better than regular chain. It also works great on the Salsco Mow -N-Go. O-ring chain is far less maintenance keeping the slack out of the chain.

O-ring chain is used on a lot of motorcycles. There is a special tool to compress the o-rings to install the master link clip. Also there are dedicated pliers for installing the clip. Get one of those too. The tool also saves a lot of time installing clips on regular chain.

For what it's worth I replace the chains on both my Salsco rollers every winter with Stens 250-043 #50 chain 30.37 for 10 feet. I adjust the chains about every 5 rolls because we usually use 2 rollers per 18 holes.
