My first guess is you won't have a consumable disc in your shop that will touch the carbide tip. That said, do a little research on the health hazards of grinding carbide, and you may decide to rethink this.
I thought, a couple years ago, that I needed to replace mine. The tips were fine, not "sharp" but intact. I was getting a little wear on the fin behind the blade though. In my opinion, the new cut no different than the seven year old blades, and I happened to save the oldies and use them for misc projects like retrofitting a 1000 to a verticutter and they work just fine.
