We have an older set of these reels which we solely use for grooming and light verticutting on our greens. We use the standard metal blades with no carbide tips and once we get even a slight amount of wear on the blades and need to lower the cutting unit we began to drag the green with the frame of the reels... We can not pin point exactly what is dragging at the moment. Any one else have similar issue?

First place to look is if the rear roller has been pivoted up into the working position or if you have it down (storage position) causing a goofy attack angle. Otherwise there isn't really much to the system

Its as though the roller can pivot freely with no way for it to lock into place. Weird design....

We had one of ours do the same thing, we found the grass discharge shield bent allowing it to drag.

Did you replace the shield or simply bend it? We ground some material off of ours which didn't help. We will re-asses.

We ground more material from the bottom of the shield although we wont know if it helped until next spring.

We bent it back to the original shape.
