We just bought a 2010 Toro 4500D this past Spring. This mower has been great, but now having some issues with a couple rollers. The rear metal rollers are starting to fall apart where the tube and end cap meet. I am looking at new rollers, but looking for any opinions on rollers for this mower. I have not used the plastic rollers from R&R Products for years, but this might be a good application for them. Any thoughts or opinions on the plastic vs metal rollers for the rear or the front on the Toro 4500D would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the older rollers with the steel end caps and snap rings or the newer ones with the stainless 1" nut on each end?

I would not expect to see that from Toro OEM rollers. Those caps are welded (spin-welded) on at the factory. You may have aftermarket rollers on there which may not be welded. I'd probably go with new Toro OEM rollers instead of the plastic ones. I tried a set of plastic ones from R&R years ago and they wore out and got sloppy pretty quick.
