Any tricks of the trade or new ideas on coot control? We've been putting up fencing and treating with spotrete to try to help/herd them into other areas. I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times but wanted to get some feedback from regional supers and figured this a good place for it. Thanks.

What about a bird banger gun like used for geese? Been using one here for geese for about a year and i have not seen any coots. (accept the ones playing golf!)

I use a high powered Aries laser pointer by Laserglow Technologies. I make a few passes by the ponds early in the morning just after daybreak, fire up the laser and shine it into the flocks of birds. It works like a charm. I have the best luck when I give it to the loudest guy on the crew and he chases those birds all over the place clicking and whistling and flashing the laser at 'em.

Thanks for responses guys. Going to look into that laser this week. Used a smaller version on geese but never on coots before.
