Not going through the entire lineup but a few observations on this weeks games

Alabama is +40 vs W. Kentucky........may call off the dogs, a lot of points to give

USC -26 vs Syracuse.........think the Trojans will roll and cover on the east coast

LSU- 23 vs Washington......again lots of points against a pretty good team....heat and humidity could hurt the Huskies on Sat Night........Tigers cover

Oregon -34 vs Fresno State.......sorry Pete......Ducks quack loudly

FSU no line........the line should be if they can score more than the 84 OSU scored against Savannah State

Mich State -21 vs Central Michigan.......big school vs directional school........Bell and the Spartans roll

Clemson vs Ball State........Tigers rout Lettermans team

Wisconsin vs Oregon State + 8......game could be close

Michigan vs AF........Big Blue muddles along again but wins a close one.......points are good

Nebraska vs UCLA one of the better match ups this week........close but Huskers prevail

Miami vs KSU -7........Wildcats win at home

Missouri vs Georiga - 2.5......... SEC comes to town and the Dawgs pull out a close win on the road

Texas A&M vs Florida -1.5....wow Gators a dog at home.........I like the Aggies in an upset if you can call it that

Miss State vs Auburn.........like the Dawgs to cover at home..........not sure about the Tiges of Auburn

OSU vs Arizona........hmmmmmm not quite Savnannah State this week........road trip going west........Wildcats!

Good picks Dave. I differ from yours with Gators over Aggies at home (close though), OK State Aggies over Zona on the road (at least they were Aggies back in the day when my dad went there), and my upset pick is Mizzou over Georgia. Also not sure LSU can cover the 23 against Washington, they'll be game.

My vols will beat Georgia State, but since we need to iron out the running game and we have some youngsters to evaluate I don't think it will be huge numbers.

In looking back at my picks I was pretty good this week........it usually takes me a week or two to figure out a team and after two weeks I will be like those from Missouri.........."show me" in speaking of USC.......second week of not even CLOSE to covering against another weak opponent..........Oregon looked bad..........those that I predicted to roll did for the most part............Bama, LSU, MSU, Miss State, Georgia, KSU among others rolled as I thought they would.......think that makes about 15 in a row for LSU against Pac 12 opponents......they did tie the NCAA record last night of 39 consecutive wins against non conference foes. ARksansas stepped in it big time........Auburn is as bad as I thought.......and I really hoped that the Aggies would hang on and beat the Gators but they didn;t.

Now on to the Saints at noon today.........and we got Will Smith back

Yes the Saints did indeed suck.........looked our first exhibititon game of the year, not the first game that counted. We lost the first one last year and then won 13 so maybe more of the same for 2012....I hope so anyway.

Well, at least I got the FL- A&M game right. I guess that's why I don't bet. Better news, my Vols have cracked the top 25 for the first time in years, and the ESPN college gameday show will be in Knoxville this week for the first time since 2004. GO BIG ORANGE!!

Other observations, the Big 10 stinks this year. Pac 12 (other than CU) had a big week, UCLA and AZ look like they have come out of hibernation. I think it's time to place less emphasis on conferences. Certain teams are consistently good, and all conferences have their share of doormats (SEC included).

Does Alabama have another back that will just step in and run as well as the kid that got hurt? I imagine they are so deep that it doesn't really matter. Not that anyone else follows but maybe David, my Aztecs beat Army handily this past weekend. Go San Diego State!!! Watch out in hoops this year, they are loaded.

The only team that has as many quality running backs as Alabama is LSU......yes they have 5 star freshman that ran for about a 100 yds last week in a back up roll.
