We have Floradwarf greens in central florida but there is a lot of paspalum infestation due to the surrounds being transformed to paspalum. Greens renovation is in the horizon but due to budget issues we are not taking a lot out of the old greens. My question is if someone has had success getting rid of paspalum patches on bermuda grass greens so when renovation comes along we are safe just taking the top 3-6 inches.
    thanks

    Rafael,

My first question would be why do you grow Seashore Paspalum everywhere else? If saltwater or poor water quality is an issue why not convert the greens to one of the excellent varieties of paspalum now available for greens? It is a close to impossible reality to remove paspalum from your current greens without killing everything. It is easier to go the other way around, saltwater for instance would hurt or kill off bermuda if salty enough..Many newer greens grade varieties of Seashore Paspalum are there for the use in your area, they make great greens and would fit in well with your current situation without fighting a battle of keeping turf out...I have seen some try to put a collar of Zoysia between Paspalum and Bermuda to try and keep them apart, it helps but not perfect. Good Luck sounds like you got many choices to make.
