I was unable to make the webcast. Can someone give me some highlights (bad news)? I'm sure this will show up in the On-Demand list, but I'm curious....and impatient.

Basically, if you have water that leaves your property at any time, whether it is present year around or not, you are in for a bunch of paperwork.

One question I have is, we have no surface water, but do have retention ponds that allow the water to percolate and evaporate. Since this water that infiltrates the ground eventually leads to the aquifer, which eventually leads to springs and surface water, do I qualify? Or am I exempt?

A recording of the webcast will be available shortly. Keep an eye out for a link.

Oh yeah, and aerification may now require a permit.

    Matthew,

The On Demand link for the WOTUS webinar is now available: http://www.gcsaa.org/education/webcasts ... wotus-rule

    Hope that helps!

    Angela,

How do we view the webinar? I clicked the link and it took me to the "Register Now" page of the webinar. I went thru the registration process and did not find a location to view the webinar.

    Thanks...

    Gentlemen,

When I just tested the registration for the webinar, at the end I received a confirmation email. That email had the link to the video included. The email comes from Lisa Wick at GCSAA, and the subject line is "Thank You for Your GCSAA On Demand Purchase".

Did you receive that email? If not, the link to the video is http://www.gcsaa.tv/webinars/education/view.php?id=290.

If you need any additional assistance, please let me know.

    Angela,

I did not receive the confirmation email, however, the latest link took me to the webinar.

    Thanks...

    Guys,

As a grassroots ambassador, I have reached out to my congressman and he and his office are going to try and help us understand this confusing WOTUS stuff. Might be an option for others.

Good point, Jeff. I called my congressman's office as well. I spoke with one of his staffers and although she could not offer any direct insight, she did offer to look into the confusing matter. Many questions remain unanswered such as which state/fed agency will provide oversight and regulations?, how and where do we go through the permitting?, how can a golf course be held in violation when they are not given the opportunity to come within compliance?, and on and on.

I see there have been a few more states join the fight against WOTUS. Keeping my fingers crossed they succeed in bringing the EPA to their knees on this topic anyway. Remember, the EPA falls under the Executive Branch of government. Vote accordingly ;).

Received this in response to a phone call to my congressman's office. Sounds encouraging...

Funny, I'm still getting "Quilts Monthly" addressed to Ralph.

Our local chapter had an ecological company in today to discuss this, it really isn't as complicated as the webinar made it out to be, we all will still be able to apply our pesticides as we always have. I really recommend that all local chapters should contact a company to come in and speak on this. It was very helpful. My course has a creek and half of it lies within the 100 year floodplain, I am not worried at all about what I am doing.

Was this one of the first things killed off by our new President?

Seems like the first thing he did was end some environmental stuff, however I have not seen anything that says this was one of the ended initiatives.

    Thanks,
    Alden

I've read what orders Trump has signed since taking office and I haven't seen anything related to the EPA or the environment. What am I missing?

WOTUS was DOA when it was Obama's EPA. Odds are it's sunk for good.

I'm not really sure an executive order could "undo" the Clean Water Rule. However, Senator Fischer (NE) and Senator Ernst (IA) introduced last week "Senate Resolution 12" to the Committee on Environment and Public Works requesting that the Clean Water Rule (WOTUS) be vacated. Point being.....there is some action going forward. Bill Bieck

Well we're fortunate Our New Potus owns courses. I'm sure his boys will work with the New EPA Director and Deregulate this BS.
