Zoysia in Bermuda Cancel The title field is required!

   I have 3 spare holes and will be planting out one badly contaminated green with Champion shortly and intend to plant zoysia matrella around the collars and surrounds, similar to what Atlanta Athletic Club did for the PGA this year. The Club I'm at now has contamination (other common and hybrid bermuda) throughout all greens (Tifgreen) so we want to look as this combination for potential future use.
   
   I assume that there would be a number of guys using this style of combination - bermuda greens and zoysia surrounds. Any suggestions for controlling the anticipated encroachment by the zoysia into the green? Edging, barrier?

   I know a course in Houston that has problems keeping their TifEalgle out of the Zeon Zoysia and not the other way around. From my experience, Zoysia is not nearly as aggressive as bermuda.
   
   I would do my best to keep the edge with a stick edger and have an oversized nursery for when you need to do collar/edge work on the greens edges

   Brett,
   How are you?
   We have diamond zoysia on our collars and have to work to keep the 419 from encroaching into them. We just started using fusilade to slow down the bermuda. I wouldnt think there should be too much concern for zoysia growing out into the berm. We actually have noticed the bent going out into the zoysia in spots.
