Anybody use a tee rotation schedule at their course? I am at a public course that has anywhere from 4 to 7 teeing areas per hole. The problem is all our par 3 holes are 175 and longer with the shortest tees on them being postage stamps and on the par 4's the back tee box makes the hole to long for the average golfer. We currently have 4 sets of markers.
    Thanks Willy

We follow a basic simple plan, pin location front tee back, pin middle tee middle, pin back tee up. This keeps the hole distance basically the same or as best as possible according to the ideology of the game. There will be times when this is not followed for events, men's or ladies club tournaments, others special set ups as asked for by the group having the event. We do our best to spread out the tee use and green pin placement use, wear and tear so best playing condition are there everyday!

    Paul,
I wrote this 20 years ago and still use today. gives you 27 day rotation and does work with any size and shape of tee with some training.

    Good luck

What in the world does that mean? Why would any given hole need to play the same length everyday?

What I was addressing is the distance of the hole posted on the card or the distance marker of the hole. So that it remains somewhat equivalent to what is posted. My wording was not meant to be off the wall, just the card says the hole is 400 yards long so the tee location and pin location could match it based on its adjustments, give or take a little bit. The markers one puts on a hole from the USGA or local PGA association is to mark the official hole distance from each tee, used for official events distance marking ect. Consistency is the key so to speak is my point, no big deal. And yes in my battle with epilepsy they did take a scoop out of my head it messes with my short term memory, but my long term memory is very good, in fact my Spanish speaking came back good as ever. Mi habla Espanol muy bien, quantos anos tienes hablo Espanol???
