I've been advised to start the process of replacing a rough mower here. We have a lot of undulating surrounds and a large fixed deck mower isn't an option. I've demoed the JD 8800, am familiar with the Jac 522, and dont' really care for the toro 4500/4700's. Who, if any of you, has purchased the JD 1556 (?) with the 100" lastec articulator in recent years. I haven't been around a lastec in years, but I did like what I saw out of them in the past. I'd also like the versatility of being able to use the 1556 traction unit to broom paths or even blow snow in the winter months. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have nothing but good things to say about Lastec. I have one pull behind and one 120" zero turn Lastec.
Very efficient with no scalping issues and a great cut. I am not into stripes on a golf course so this unit is perfect as it stands the grass up nice with very little laying over.
