question for people with a golf lift.

The manual says you should have 12' from the main lift post to a wall or object. That would take up a good bit of the space in my shop where I would like to install it. would anyone know roughly what the distance would be from the post to the front of a truck if it was on it?

I know I can swing 8' and possibly 10' but 12 puts me too close to my door on the other side of the unit.

I'd go with half the total length of the truck. When lifting a truck I'd think you will be able to position the lift arms so the truck is centered.

Thats was more or less my thinking. the truth is that we would seldom have a truck on the lift anyway. I'm just getting too old to keep working off of a creeper.

We measured a truck and found out where the center was and added about 5 feet from overhead door so we had room to move around it, had a truck on it once a gm sierra 1500 doing a wheel bearing for assistant, and had plenty of room to move around, probably never have a big truck on it again.
