Has anyone seen this dirt bike riding Rickie Fowler:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta0TeTOm7eA

I was outraged, when I saw it. I could not believe a Golf Pro would do this, and show it on You Tube. That is all we need. To have kids see this and mimic it. Thanks a lot Rickie.

I think it's an awesome video. Of course I love dirt bikes. Kids don't need a video to think about riding on a golf course, the ones that would vandalize would do it with or with out the video. JMO.

I'm sure the golf course, where the commercial was shot, received a handsome sum to more than cover the repair costs. Remember, the purpose of the commercial is to attract new golfers and Ricky Fowler can do that with the younger motocross crowd.

Carl Spackler would approve. That isn't much worse than any vandalism or issues many of us have had to deal with from young turfies or adolescent cart jockeys, let alone "outsiders" coming in and getting creative. That commercial doesn't incite destructive behavior towards golf courses any more than commercials about the magical powers of bud light encourages people to cast spells on each other. If a kid rides his/her dirt bike out on the course, it's because they made a conscious decision to do that. Not because Rickie text him and told him it'd be really awesome if he did...

Yesterday we had our annual "Car vs. Practice Green Death Match" wherein a drunken octagenarian loses control of his car and drives through the hedges and across the practice green en route his condo.
    I blame Ricky Fowler.

    Regards,

    Steve

Did you perform a field sobriety test on the perp?

It's a gated community. The only reason they buy here is so they can drink cheap and drive home drunk with no law enforcement involved.

Have not seen this particular clip but it is not the first time it has run. He did the same thing a couple of years ago, maybe the same one. All of golf is gearing up for spring, warmer weather and revenue.

All the more reason for Deputy Steve to spring to action.

Didn't watch this video, but the golf boys video bubba, hunter, rickie, and the most overrated Ben crane did was more of a slap in the face to us real golfers then anything! I was embarrassed for them! No wonder this business is suffering. I'd bet Arnold Palmer wants to slap these guys in the face if he could even stomach watching it!

Ah, nah. Golf needs to reinvent itself for, dare I say it, sustainability and the good of the game and our profession. I'm approaching 50 and I love classic courses/tradition but the geezer-school of golf for the masses is gone. Sure, the high-end classic courses have their place but not for golf as a whole, not any longer. Golf needs fun and creativity a la the 16th at the Phoenix Open. That's the reality of the times. Like Rickey Fowler, Bubba/Hunter/Charles Barkley, and the rest need to encourage the "youngsters", women, and minorities to the courses. Over time these new-bees and return-ees become regulars. Fun, family, time, cost, and difficulty are the new metrics for successful golf as a whole.

    Clay,

I respect your opinion. We will have to agree to disagree on this one :)

Probably for another thread, but it was interesting in the news-feed on the right, Secretary of State Clinton was leading in polls against Senator Rubio and Gov. Jeb Bush..........

I would have to agree with this opinoin, I'm thinking of piping in music to a few of my tee boxes so the young kids can listen and maybe enjoy it more and maybe bring some new people out!!!! Just on different days and maybe on some nightly scrambles. What you think? They already are using their Ipods playing now anyway.

Funny that you mention this. I listen to Pandora while playing golf. I have often thought it would be great to have music piped onto the golf course. I'd love to hear how it goes if you end up doing this on your course.
