    Good morning,
I have a Ford 1920 tractor. It has a bad alternator. It is a 35 amp with and internal regulator. Does anyone know of a replacement for it other than the original Mitsubishi one? It's a diesel and not computer controlled so I do not need that much amperage. If I find another replacement with a little more amps would it hurt anything? Lets say 40 or 45 amp?

For anything that old these guys are good. We got a brand new manifold for our 1950ish Farmall

I'd start with a visit to your local auto parts store. They help us out on many occasions.

Just a quick google of alternator for that tractor it comes up with original part number SBA18504-6320 and several replacements for it anywhere from $74 online from ebay or amazon or $110 at autozone or even up to $269 at O'Reilly auto parts. All of them are 40 amp which won't hurt a thing. I know we have a local battery place that rebuilds them and usually half the cost.
