I have 2 Toro TriFlex mowers we use on greens mowing at .120(overseeded with Poa trivialis). We just lowered the heights from .140 to .130 and now .120 in about 2 weeks time. Clippings are all over the surface and not sure why/how. We sharpened and replaced the bedknives with micro's thinking this was the issue as it looked like the tournaments knives were dragging a bit. Any suggestions?

Have you measured your reels to see what size they are? May have reach the wear limits for that hoc. Also dropping to a lower HOC is going to give you a more aggressive cut, you may need to adjust your shims on the rear roller to change your bedknife attitude. What is your attitude angle? On a surface plate how much clearance is there from the bottom of knife from the surface plate. Have you moved your grass shields at all? Sometimes the adjustment there will affect how the clippings are pushed into the basket. Just a few things I would be looking at. Hope it helps you out.

    Regards,

We had a problem with the 2013 3400 triplex. The basket design was not adequate; grass catching was poor and it also left piles at the edges when lifting up. I took off the front roller scrapers and Toro sent some new baskets and mounting bars last fall after they got an upgrade worked out. DIdn't get a chance to try them so hoping that solved the problem.

Are bottom clipping baskets have a metal bar that gets bent. I have to put my foot in them and pull up on the top of the basket to straitened it from time to time. They get bent from crossing cart paths.

There is an update to the basket horns for that machine. If you have the black ones they have been replaced with shorter red ones, should eliminate your problem.
