Saw Governor/Ambassador Huntsman on Meet the Press yesterday....Didn't agree with him 100% on all issues but with some of the items I disagreed with him on, he had good answers. On the health care issue, he had talked about having a mandate in his plan in Utah, but they ended up not including it as they found it didn't help control the cost for the citizens of that state. I'm ok with that not knowing all of Utah's plan and would be curious as to how the people of his state like it. But it seems they looked at their options and all issues with it and found something that works for them. Just like Governor Romney and Mass. found they needed the mandate, it is what they found to be best for their state. I could live with that.

Why won't the republicans give him a chance? How about the republicans on here explain it to me? Heck if he was the candidate that made it through the primaries I would give him serious consideration for my vote next November. Most of your other candidates there is no way they would get my vote, even if it was just to get President Obama out of office.

Huntsman just gives me the feeling that he isn't a strong leader. We don't need an ambassador in the white house, we need a strong leader. I think that is why he has no traction. I am not sure how others perceive him but would be interested in hearing other opinions.

    Mel,

He is right in the middle of getting his chance now.

Sandy, heard the same thing on the Morning Joe, Huntsman has the best economic plan, foreign policy plan, put together a health care plan for his state, knows China better then anyone, including the current administration, idea after idea is better then all of his competitors and yet doesn't get the traction because he seems to much like an ambassador? Maybe that works better in this global economy?

I believe if the republicans want to beat President Obama so bad, he would give them the best chance. The only way anyone else wins in my opinion, is we really have to be in deep crap, and while we are struggling, job growth has been slow and steady (private sector from what I hear) and foreign policy while there is some debate seems strong.

I know Gingrich has personal baggage but he is coming across as strong, intelligent and loaded with workable ideas. He would kill Obama in a debate since no teleprompter would be available but can he get elected? I don't know. Huntsman is a bright and sincere man but either has no money, no organization or is missing the go for the throat mentality needed in the dirty game of politics.

I worry about Gingrich's answer on Iran, along with over half the field, and also their thinking on Afghanistan. Saw the part on the debate about keeping the military option on the table about Iran's Nuke program. while I suppose it has to be out there as a deterrent, saw a couple of people I think on Sunday Mornings with Christine Anapore, or Meet the Press and they said a military strike would be the worst option.

Huntsman didn't talk about the military option and with regards to Afghanistan, he says we should leave.

I guess part of my answer could have been another topic thread.

That's our Sunday morning routine, read the paper, drinking coffee, and watching Meet the Press and the second half of Sunday Mornings and then it out to either do chores or fun things, yesterday it was chores, taking care of my mom's yard and packing somethings up for her.
