Sounds like many drugs under certain levels of the unaffordable care act will eliminate the need for those death panels. If you have cancer, MS, rheumatoid arthritis etc. you probably will be buying those drugs out of pocket and if you can't afford them, you may just have to choose to die! Seems like a new bombshell everyday. As Zeke Emanuel says, sure, you can keep your doctor etc. you will just have to pay up to do so. So much for everyone saving 2K and keeping their plans and doctors, if you can find a hospital Sounds like the good ones are not included! I guess Nancy was right. We would have to read it to find out what is in it!

Alan, take your pick! They are loaded , including the business channel with very attractive, exceptionally bright women. Most of them are attorneys and several have been high finishers in beauty contests. Brains and beauty is a tough combination to beat!

I am in the process of evaluating the various plans in the marketplace. The affordable part of the ACA as I see it are the following: 1) If you cannot afford a good policy you can get a subsidy through the marketplace, 2) the more you pay monthly the less you will pay if you get sick, 3) there is a specified deductible and maximum out of pocket annual expense, 4) if you have a pre-existing condition you can get coverage and 5) you cannot be cancelled for having an expensive illness. The policies themselves are more competitive on the marketplace, but the savings do not appear to be more than $500 to $1000 per year.

Boner wasn't paying anything before. Chuck Grassley changed that.

    Sandy,

I would like to see more of where the ACA will do this. I doubt that with big Pharmacy lobbying efforts that this wouldn't be covered.

I just saw something through somewhere, that a new CF drug for certain genotypes called Kalydecko (I think that is spelled correctly) is working really well, actually makes the cells work like they would in a normal person. Cost is extremely high for this new drug, but in the US and in England, it sounds like anyone who needs it and can take it is getting the meds. Either through government subsidies, the manufacture themselves offering assistance, CF foundations, charities and insurance, oddly enough there are patents in Canada that can't get it due to cost and no assistance. I just mention this because I know about it, but it seems that it is the opposite of what you are saying is happening. Of course it still is only 2013.

Mel, I have heard this on Roger Hedgecock, seen interviews with doctors and other so-called experts on Megyn Kelly's show and have heard it on a couple of other news sources multiple times lately. This can't all be bias hallucinations by the right. These appear to be people that have really taken the unaffordable care act apart and found all kinds of things the public wasn't told during the lead up to the totally partisan vote manipulated by Harry Reid. Recently disclosed is the problem of getting the business end of the process that isn't ready, the drug issues and the fact that along with many doctors being hurt, the top hospitals are unavailable. These are facts that are coming out everyday that nobody planned on. These are way over and above the keep your plan keep your doctor promises. They also should keep Ezekial Emanual off the air because all he does is tick the average person off and make them more angry at the program.

    Sandy,

Might want to rethink that brains part about Megyn

She is an incredibly bright lady and very professional at her job. Everyone in television has a moment or a statement they wish had come out differently. I wouldn't want her prosecuting me!

    Hardly something worth rethinking.
