   If there really was a kind and loving God, why would he allow children to starve. Earthquakes and disease to take thousands each year, and Johnny Miller to be born with a larynx.
   I had about all I can take of the guy. Balls always rolling to the lake regardless of gravity, bad reads on putts, and describing greens in a manor that would make you think they are stimping at 4 instead of the 12 or 13 that they are. Any superintendent would give his left knacker to have a course in that amazing condition.
   
   It's time for JM to sit back and drink a great big glass of "STFU"

   I liked his analogy yesterday about the field falling away from par......"Like leaves dropping in August." I live in the frozen tundra and they don't start dropping until late October here.
   
   And his use of the word "anal" to describe Furyk. It's probably accurate but I could hear the NBC execs cringe when he said it.
   
   I actually think he has some sort of disorder, like Aspergers Syndrome, whereby he has no clue that he is trampling all over good tastes and manners. He sounds as if he actually believes this generation of players are hacks. I don't know how many times he said something like, "well if he doesn't yang it left" only to have the player knock three feet stiff.
   
   Then there is the endless patting himself on the back for noting that some irrigation was tossed the night before and the course was playing a tad slower. I get it, already.
   
   I'm surprised NBC hasn't moved him to greener pastures.
   
   Props to Mr. Finlen and his staff. I would give my right knacker for those conditions....Great job!!

   I could not agree more. I want to put the TV on mute that way I don't have to listen to his opinions.
   He always has something negative to say about every shot and every player. I would like to see him play under the conditions that these guys are playing under it would eat his lunch. NBC needs to get rid of him he is wearing me out. HEY JOHNNY STICK A SOCK IN YOUR PIE HOLE>

   You want worse the Miller? Watch the KC Royals on KC Fox Net and listen to Rex Hurdle (or something like that), who they used to replace Frank White because Frank spoke the truth. This guy is brutal.
   
   Have loved the course and the options the players can take to play it, it's not just bombing it. Did think Tiger didn't not adjust his game to the slightly softer greens compared to Friday's play. I think the course looks and plays great!

    ... but I want to publicly humiliate the nimrod who said "ball's sure sittin' down in that rough, huh Beau?!" to Beau Hossler. I wish I could have been there to give him a tall cool glass of STFU!

    I am always shocked at Miller's negative outlook on everything, I can't be the only one who notices. He seems to have a following among people who believe that "he speaks the unvarnished truth." Perhaps, but I can't help but think that his own career as a pro would have lasted longer if he had a more positive outlook on life.

    Unfortunately, I think he reflects the way most golfers think - as if they have the answer and angle on everything that happens out there. Joey Baggadonuts relates to him because he thinks the same stupid things Miller does and I think that's why he stays. Miller's a dope who got some traction as a sportscaster. He's nothing beyond that. That's what the average golf enthusiast relates to these days.
    The days of reverence for the game and its traditions have been winnowed down to something our grandfathers did.
    Johnny Miller is the face of that trend, whether he thinks he is or not: The knows-it-all/knows-nothing golfer that is armed with too little information about complicated systems he never really cared about in the first place but feels the need to comment on like he wrote the book on it.
    That's the face of golf that I see until the next gen starts making decisions on marketing the sport to their own age group. That should be refeshing.

    Have to say I think Steve hit on something. The overall attitude of most golfers is that of a pessimist instead of being an optimist. Millers attitude and comments often mirror that of many of our members.
