John Deere 7500 E Cut Fairway Mower HELP Cancel The title field is required!

   We are having issues with our 7500 Ecut Fairway Mower. Reels won't engage, smoke coming from altenator seems like alternator is shot? As usual with John Deere their onboard diagnostics are very hard to use. Dealer wants $2300 for new alternator, wondering if anyone has had similar issues or if there is someone out there who rebuilds them or has a better price. Help PLEASE!

   Find yourself a starter rebuild shop and they should be able to test and rebuild it if needed. The on board diagnostics is for more of the basic issues. Use your manual to following the lights/codes to locate the issue, but if the alternator is shot it most likely wont tell you anything. There are some codes and issuses that are not in the system and will require the dealer to hook up service advisor.
