There is a discussion regarding changing the name of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by removing the "D". Some feel it will help those affected to realize that the symptoms can be a normal response to many and especially those who have seen, experienced or committed particularly horrifying activities. My doctor told me this today, so I looked it up. I guess everything has to be contentious in our culture today, but this seemed like a no-brainer to me - remove the "D". What do you think?

Since I sometimes experience dyslexia, when the "D" is removed it looks like something that would be stuck on the side of a race car (fuel additive?).

Scotty, It is a disorder. We all have stress to varying degrees but we are not all plagued by nightmares, depression and anger. Removing the word disorder will just relegates it to a normal state of being which by no means is it. Depressive disorder, Bi-polar disorder etc. To me it means something that is not normal but can be worked on to make order. It's all semantics anyway. Regardless of what you call it, it is something people would prefer to get rid of.
