83% of doctors surveyed have said they are or have seriously thought about getting out of me their practice due to Obama-care! Also by 2020, it is forecast we will be short 20,000 doctors. Boy, that should reduce prices and insure quality care! Even you extreme fans of Obama-care better hope Romney wins and the new law is scuttled immediately. If it is not, you will have a shocking awakening of what you were in favor of. You can put all the lipstick on it you want but it will still put the USA we once knew into its grave and you will see the birth of a super Europe complete with the problems you read about everyday.

That survey was done by the Doctor Patient Medical Association whatever that is? This is their view of the PPACA, "It is DPMA's position that PPACA is the Destruction Of Our Medicine, attempting to insert the government and bureaucrats between the relationship and decisions of medical professional and their patient." I am going to assume Americans for Prosperity is paying for this. If you are using private insurance there is an insurance company bureaucrat between you and your doctor already.

The irony of the entire t hing is the rich, super rich, mega rich dispite what Scott thinks I am not among will always have health care and the BEST HEALTHCARE. They can simply buy serices from boutique doctor practices for those that are able and willing to pay for the best care. That is a simple fact of economics. A doctor that I once used has sent a letter to all of his patients and the first 1000 of his current patient base is willing to fork up $1500 annually plus having their insurance will be promised 24/7 access to his services. A million 5 before he collects a nickle from insurance. This is happening in many places and probably will continue to grow. Those needing the medical attention the most will continue to do without in most cases.

I fully believe that people with means should be able to use their money to promote their health. I do not think anyone is arguing this. If they want to do it with a "Cadillac Plan", they will pay a 90% tax. There are plenty of doctors out there who choose to deal with Medicare Patients. Why? Because it is well run and they get paid.

Why should anyone ever have to pay a 90% tax other than punishment for success?

I assume that the money is used to assure that there are enough doctors and support staff to attend to those less fortunate and keep their family members from devising stealthy methods of overrunning rich neighborhoods with the shock and awe taught to them by their government.

Here is the bigger issue with some of these GREAT ideas coming from our government:
Those that are successful (some like to call the FILTHY RICH) have the means to figure out how to avoid/work around these intrusions by our government.
Right now...the most successful doctors are planning to move to areas like Panama to open up clinics/hospitals well away from this monstrosity dubbed The Affordable Care Act.
Will you and I get to go there...NOPE.
This is not a conspiracy, just capitalism at work.
America used to use this concept to it's advantage...those were the days.

Why would a doctor do this? I have not seen anywhere in the law that doctors are forced to accept insurance.

    Simple. Because they can.
This is going to be a new market away from government investigations/regulations and the limited liability protection for doctors under this act.
Since there is no robust malpractice reform is this act do you think things will be better or worse for doctors when it comes to liability?
You are right, they could practice here and not take insurance...but you used to be able to roll your own cigarettes and avoid the cigarette tax too. Not any more...
So...if the government is going to come after "mom and pop" cigarette stores (who are NOT part of the filthy rich), will it come after successful doctors???

There is nothing new about the medical industry in Panama. They have been providing high quality, low cost healthcare there for years. That is why many people have gone there from the US for treatment. They have socialized medicine and private healthcare.
Since there is no robust malpractice reform is this act do you think things will be better or worse for doctors when it comes to liability? President Obama voiced a willingness to address this in a more robust plan in 2009. Congress did not cooperate. As it stands the PPACA provides that states may set limits.

Doctors provide a service and pay taxes on their incomes, so I am not sure where you are going with this comment.

You are not sure where I was going? Come on...Compliance

But hey...I only know what a couple of FILTHY RICH friends of mine are saying. One of them is getting richer by cleaning up foreclosures following the The National Homeownership Strategy (thank you Presidents Clinton/Bush).
    Ahhh, Government intervention...always a winner.

83% of doctors are mad because they won't be able to scam the system. Out of the 83% that said they will quit 75% won't.

Remember when you go to the hospital and pay $6.00 for a bandaid. You are paying for everyone who comes in with no insurance and the hospital has to make up that lost money somehow.
