Does anyone know of a way to get rid of Ants in greens. We get the little nickel size mounds on our greens and nothing seems to kill them.

I Spray Meridian and Scimitar on the green and around the perimeter as soon as I see activity starting. The mounds on the greens are just feeder tunnels out from their main home which is somewhere around the perimeter of the green. Spraying there goes after the queen.
I follow that up with spot spraying with a 2 gallon hand sprayer filled with a Scimitar mixture.
You wont eliminate them but you can greatly reduce their activity on the putting surfaces.

    Chad,

I have had good success using Aloft granular watered in after 24 hours for ant control.

    Chad,
I have gotten really good control in the past by spraying Aloft on the green top and more importantly the surrounds. As Craig said you must get the queen or you are fighting a never-ending battle. She will be in the surround. If your feeder mounds are on the green then 1-2 boom widths around the green should do it. I would plan on making 2 apps per year until you see control but I have seen really good control after 1 app when treating the surround thoroughly. Water in all applied areas. I have heard that Meridian works just as well when treating the surrounds but have never tried it myself. Good Luck
