I don't think you give VP Biden a lot of credit, he has been doing this for many years. Can he sometimes stick his foot in his mouth? Yea, sure we all can, but when he usually does that it's typically is about minor things.
I did see a clip on tv yesterday with congressman Ryan, where I guess they were lobbing softball questions at him, he even said so, he then asked for tough questions; then someone asked him about his differences on abortion with Gov. Romney, (well it depends on maybe the last statement Gov. Romney had made, just in recent weeks, he as agreed that abortions can be preformed to save the life of the mother, and then the campaign has to come out and say that's not what he meant, same has happened with other issues such as the pre-existing condition in his health care plan) anyway after the hardball question was asked, Ryan cut off the interview. I also remember the interview where congressman Ryan was asked about their budget the Romney/Ryan ticket proposed, it doesn't seem to add up, and Ryan commented that "it would take too long to explain it" If I was VP Biden, I would tell him "here I would like to suspend the time limit and allow my friend to explain it" I just don't know if I would get all giddy yet and think this debate is in the bag.
David, I think there is more to the attack on Libya, it seems the republicans cut the state department budget the last two years by a large degree. There were probably some democrats in congress that voted for it too. Where the administration should take blame is how they prioritized the budget the state department had left. Some weasel congressman who was questioning during the hearing, interviewed with Solidad O'Brien later and had to stammer away when he was questioned about the budget cutting claiming "They" had to make hard choices. Both sides are to blame for this debacle, all because one side will not raise one dime of taxes to pay for those peoples protection and the other side did not make good choices with their diminished resources. Who benefits from us being in Libya? The cynic in me says the oil companies who continue to receive subsidies, I say take their subsidies away and use that money to protect our diplomats. Of course that is irrational thinking without a lot of facts, but that's how the politicians work too in my opinion, and they should have the facts available.
