I have heard of some guys Topdressing before they Verti-cut, to work the sand in to the canopy and leave a smoother surface behind. I normally Verti-cut above the crown of the Tif-Dwarf in 4 directions, bi-weekly. I then topdress lightly, drag in the material with a mat and lightly water just to work the sand in some more. This has been a successful practice for us, but I am also looking to improve our techniques and putting surface.

Let me know if you use this method and how you like it, I am also interested to see what kind of abrasion this has on the Verti-cutting units and general wear and tear issues?

    Cheers

i have not seen it done on Bermuda but it sure works well on Bent or Poa mix greens. One quick pass with brush will finish off.
