I have been asked to add Revenue Per Round to my annual report that I do each year. I am happy to add it but I have a few questions I am hoping someone could answer. I am having trouble finding the formula for Reveunue per Round that other courses use online. Is it as simple as take total revenue and divide it by the number of rounds for the season. If this is the case I do not understand how this will help compare year to year. It would make more sense to me if it was total profit per round, this would take into account revenue and expenses each year. What little information I did find online said that revenue per round can compare course to course. I really do not see how that is possible with so many variables from course to course.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Dan

Revenue per round (RPR) provides a great snap shot of your revenue per golfer. It does provide comparisons from course to course. It also allows you to create scenarios for price increases/decreases, round increases/decreases, revenue per golfer in the golf shop and F & B, etc. You can easily compare the net profit to the RPR and find your net profit per golfer.

    Daniel:

I believe you're correct in trying to compare one golf course to another, it's damn near impossible! But, you can acquire a yearly snap shot of performance. The major metrics on the post below will capture certain measurable metrics of your golf maintenance business and from year-to-year you will begin to have a deeper understanding of your business plan and make adjustments moving forward based on meaningful performance metrics.
