Has anyone kept track of chemical and fertilizer costs over maybe the last 5-10 years on the percent of increase per year? I would sure like to get that information. Last year I was blocked for the national convention for budget reasons. I think I save enough in my buying to pay for the cost of the show and more if I can back this up with some numbers other than my own maybe I can go again. Thanks in advance for helping myself and others in the same boat.

    No, sorry...
I haven't even been keeping track of the percentage decrease on my kickbacks from the vendors.
    And THAT has been substantial.
    Oh shoot. Scratch that.
I forgot we're not suppose to talk about that.

Dithane is not much more than it was 30 years ago. The loss of MSMA and the costs of the new herbicides are huge. Spot spraying is the new way to go. We had so many cheap nematicide alternatives back in the day. Everything works so much better when your root system is going down two feet. Companies like Southern Ag are still making products ("Soil Wetting Agent" for one) that work super well and cost very little.

And for all you supts who abuse tobacco? Give yourself a raise and quit! Also, make your own freaking coffee instead of buying it on the way to work! There is plenty of money.

I made a spreadsheet that tracked increases in fuel, pesticides, fertilizer, etc... Then it shows percent change. You can then plug in your budget change over the same period and it will show your percent change. It was very effective in showing that without increasing budget each year, you are falling behind fast. I will find it, put in my dropbox and post a link asap.

Here is a link to my spreadsheet, I think I took out all my information. Once you plug in your spending it will show your % change: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z678hjj01e9cp ... lysis.xlsx
