I am looking for pros and cons of the Toro roller Greenspro 1240. We currently have the Tru Turf roller with spiker attachment and are looking at getting a new roller just debating about going with the Toro. Cost wise the Toro is alot less than the Tru Turf but have never ran the Toro one. I like the way that Toro overlapped the rollers to avoid the line that we get with the Tru Turf. Any information would be great. Thanks in advance.

Terry, We bought 2 Toro Rollers in August of 2013 and they worked great for a while but we needed to have several warrantied upgrades last season for failed bearings, faulty drive sprockets setup, and pivot arm failures. However, Toro quickly remedied these problems as soon as we called, but the rollers had to leave the shop for close to a week. They work well now and hopefully will be all set for years to come with the upgrades. They are very heavy and a little cumbersome to hook up and tow around, anyone with a sore back will soon find that out. Our operators have become very efficient and we roll 3-5x/week. Hope this helps, Greg

Terry, We have a 2012 model Toro roller which we took delivery in October of 2012. I like the machine but it had a few operator issues I had been disapointed in. When I went to the GIS in 2013 I talked to one of Toro's engineers about the issues which were the weight of the unit when you had to lift it up for transport. The steering wheel was a stationary one that was set at a flat angle which made it very hard to steer straight (we solved this by adding suicide handles). and the seat was not adjustable enough.

The result of my talk to him was amazing as last year they picked up my unit for the same warranty issues as mentioned above (they were actually recall issues) and I got a demo while they had it and they had made a lot of great changes like a tilt steering wheel, a sliding seat that actually worked well and different lift system.

My problem came from the dealer replacing all of my roller bearings 2 weeks after me and my equipment tech had done it to perfection only to have them start locking up after they worked on it, back it went, then they got the steering out of wack making it turn one direction but not the other. I6 went back three times before they got it close to how it was when we bought it. We use it 1-2 times per week and have not had any issues with it.
