Just took delivery of a few sprinklers yesterday, $110 for the body with solenoid and $78 for the internal...caught me by surprise $188 for a sprinkler...anybody else surprised by supply prices outside of fuel/oil?

Yeah. I paid $17 for an o-ring last year for our sprayer.

Boy....I got lucky this yr...Had a course doing a renovation...going from R-bird to Toro...I got some 900's for 40 bucks a piece....The solonoid costs 52 dollars and the heads work fine. Bought some 06 Toro dethatchers from State Wide Turf out of Florida for 2900 + shipping 150. In great shape too. New... I was looking at 5k. Only thing I got new was the Toro Flex greens mower for a tag of 38k...Diesel....We will make it last for a loooooooooong time

Sprinklers are the worst. Contractor prices, quantity prices, etc. We just had a little school boy project and I made some calls trying to get "list price" on irrigation components. Toro rep said there was no such thing. They say no two people on the same airplane paid the same fare, I think it's the same way with sprinklers. Kenneth Ingram, UMD.

This is true with equipment as well. If you are buying a package, buy a lot of extra stuff. With my irrigation control system I bought a lot of extra parts I thought we would need and a lot of new heads at very discounted prices. Same with equipment, purchase wear parts when you purchase the equipment and do not be an all one color shop. The manufacturers sales people can go low with equipment and parts if they need to.
