I'm looking for information of any type of closure your facility might do for routine maintenance. IE closed until 8, 9, 10 on Mondays.... I'm trying to do this or enforce some playing rules, I'm looking to give my higher up a choice...

My question is aimed mostly at public or municipal courses.

    Thanks.

We block tee times on Tuesdays until 8am, with no 9 hole play off the back 9. 5:30am tee times the other 6 days of the week.

Don't know if this will apply but maybe you could have 1 day a month where you are closed for chemical applications. A lot of chemicals have a lable where no one can enter the site sprayed for x amount of hours. By using this as a legal reason for being closed you may be able to develope a schedule for being closed between the two of you.

Small staff here so we closed (past tense) 9 holes 'til noon on Mondays through the summer.
Big benefit. This year we didn't and we have been about 4 weeks behind all summer.
    Oh well...what do I know

I worked for a county course system in NJ where we had 4 courses. We used to close 9 holes for maintenance every Monday, we did have the ability to close one nine early then switch depending on what we were doing. Last time I talked with someone back there, they still do that, but, each course is a different day in the week.

Here with the city/county park system I work for now, we occasionally get to tell them don't send anyone off the back nine, but do not get to start late. Our "Crown Jewel" gets to stay closed until 9 or 10 AM every Tuesday morning.

Because of our course layout we have a "back 10". We close the back 10 every Wednesday morning and that allows us a little extra time to do various tasks such as spraying, verti-cutting etc. ahead of all the play. It still only gives us and extra hour or so because of the pace set by the first few groups of the 1st tee.
