I got this handed to me this morning. We have this Peguin Open and we are tee to green cart paths. We've plowed them in the past for access around the course if needed. We had a 1991 Turfcat with snow thrower, which since died.

So to all you northerners who hold your Igloo, Peguin, ESkimo opens, do you plow paths on your courses regularly? Don't do it? Or do it for one event?

    What equipment do you use?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

    1st post! Woot!
For our "Polar Open" I have sent the bobcat out. We have a relatively flat course so we have no need for chains. If you have a careful operator and minimum curbs, any front loader would work as long as its not as wide as your cart paths.

We are closed in the winter so we don't do it. The last place I worked stayed open when there was no snow cover, they have a snowblower attachment for their Toro 4000D, works excellent, even when the snow is heavy and wet.

I'm not in the polar north in Colorado, but we keep most of the paths clear after any good snow event(2" or more). We use our quad with snow plow attached for the paths and we use Toro snowblowers for our bridges. We do this to maintain access to the course to allow for winter projects and ability to chase off those messy Canadian Geese. We also keep them clear to avoid ice buildup
